🌑 Scorpio New Moon 🌑 Insights and Rituals

🌑 Scorpio New Moon 🌑

On November 19-20, 2025, we will experience the smallest Micro New Moon of 2025, a deeply introspective lunar influence, with both the Sun and Moon in the sign of Scorpio.

This is a time that invites us to increase our trust in our intuition with practices that slow us down and reconnect us to our inner landscape.

The Scorpio New Moon of November 20, 2025, alongside the six retrogrades of Chiron, Jupiter, Mercury, Neptune, Saturn, and Uranus, invites us to pause for a powerful reset through reflection. It also encourages us to release old emotional baggage and step boldly toward heart-held desires

Scorpio is represented by the Scorpion, an often misunderstood little creature that sheds its skin each year. As Scorpion sheds its skin, it lets go of the old. Once the shedding is complete, it is reborn in a new skin. This is a beautiful chance to shed any unhelpful aspects and rebirth into newer, improved, and more authentic versions of ourselves.

Becoming the New Earth means trusting intuition more than ever. Scorpio New Moon encourages us to listen to our intuition, and intuitively shed that which impedes our ability to do so. One way to do so is to release anything related to fears of being misunderstood, of identity or the loss of identity, of not fitting in or of being rejected. This experience, sometimes called shadow work, is a deep inner practice that may require us to face difficult truths. Thankfully, Scorpion energy supports this process and gives us the strength to stay ever-grounded as we go.

This year's smallest Micro New Moon softens this experience for us further, allowing us to experience the New Earth energy of change that is more graceful, gentler, and easier. Allow yourself to step into this New Earth energy with practices that slow you down and reconnect you to your inner landscape through the heart. Time in nature, especially with or around water, along with water-based rituals or gentle inner work, help us navigate the emotional depth of this sign. Look below for some ideas and rituals.

Overall, this New Moon energy emphasizes radical transformation — shedding outdated layers and acknowledging how much we’ve grown since the last Scorpio New Moon in November 2024.

Other influences to consider:

Mercury Retrograde’s involvement deepens the reflective tone now, making it an ideal time to revisit past patterns and uncover truths we may have previously overlooked.

With Uranus highly activated in its exaltation through Scorpio, awakenings, disruptions, or surprising insights that ultimately nudge us toward a more authentic path may appear.

The relationship between Scorpio and Uranus is considered strong in astrology because Uranus is "exalted" in Scorpio, it feels at home and empowered there. When we consider Uranus's themes of revolutionary change, freedom, and vision with Scorpio's themes of death, transformation, and intense power, a powerful (and potentially disruptive) force for transformation and change can become available. However, we always want to use this power with great responsibility.

Rituals

We are invited under the darkness of the Scorpio New Moon to let the old go and to welcome a rebirth, allowing ourselves to change without knowing all the great ways we shall benefit — yet.

Although change can feel uncomfortable, this period holds the promise of an empowering and supported rebirth.

🌑 Scorpio New Moon Ritual for Shedding & Activating 🌑

The Space

  • An aura-cleansing tool of your choice (salt water, rose water, crystals, incense, smudging stick, etc)

  • A candle

  • A bowl of water

  • Pen and paper

  • A nature item (leaf, stone, rainwater, feather… use your intuition)

  • (Optional) An Oracle or Tarot deck

The Ritual

1. Take a walk in nature, breathing deeply. As you walk, be present with each step. Choose a nature item intuitively (fallen leaf or petal, feather, rock, rainwater, shell…) and bring it back to your space.

2. Back in your space: light the candle, place the bowl of water, have your paper + pen ready, and your nature item. Begin with three deep breath and center yourself in your heart space.

3. Spend a few moments cleansing your aura, space and the ritual tools. Recite the cleansing affirmations:

* “I cleanse and free myself of any burdens, blocks, or wounds holding me back. I ask that Mother Earth, Mother Moon, and Mother Nature work in synergy to help lift and support me on my journey. I ask for healing, I ask for release, and I ask to receive, in grace, all that comes my way. I ask to be protected through the cycles of transformation so I may be reborn with ease. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

* Then for the space: “I cleanse the space around me, I cleanse and bless this room, these tools, this body. The energy of this space is healed, the energy of this space is true. Only light and love fill this home. Only light and love dwell here. All that is dense, heavy, and untrue is now gone. I am renewed. This space is renewed. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

4. Hold the nature item in your hands, close your eyes, sense its energy and how you were drawn to it.

5. On paper, write three feelings or qualities the nature item evokes (don’t overthink). Then reflect:  How do they show up in your life now? Which of those do you need to bring in? Which do you need to release?

Use those three qualities as journalling prompts: for each one write what it means in your life right now (you can go as deep as you like).

6. When you’re ready, reflect on what came up. Then burn the papers** (**safely, outside or next to a sink; you can tear into strips), and when they are hot drop them into the bowl of water.

While doing this, you may say (three times):

 * “Under the Scorpio New Moon, I honor the cycles of death and rebirth. I allow whatever needs to go. I let whatever needs to come. I do not clench with fear for I am heart-led; my mind needs not grasp. I surrender, I accept, and I move through what is. May grace guide me, may fortune favour me, and no matter what struggles I face, may I rise.”

7. After burning, write down (or draw a symbol for) 1–2 steps you are committing to for this cycle — small or large steps you’re ready to take forward. Place these where you can see them (on an altar, or somewhere visible).

8. Optionally: pull an oracle card and reflect on its message in light of your intention and what you’ve just released/activated.

9. Conclude by discarding the water and remnants in a way meaningful for you – such as in nature, in a garden or compost. Taking three deep breaths, close the ritual with “In Love and Light, for the Good of All Beings, in All Places, I am complete” blowing out the candle to complete the process.

Hydrate and allow yourself to rest in the knowledge that all healings and activations are complete and successful.
